Karen Shepard and Tin House Books’ THE CELESTIALS get their 80 seconds of fame on NPR’s The Author’s Corner.
The Seattle Times calls THE BOOK OF ARON “remarkable” and says it “makes you want to investigate everything else Shepard has written.”
And they only misspelled his name once.
A letter to the NYTBR:

Dear Ms. Geraldine Brooks–here is a review that reviews the book that Mr. Shepard wrote, as opposed to the book the reviewer wishes to write herself. And, here is a reviewer that does his homework (a quick Google search for interviews with Mr. Shepard would have found Ms. Brooks any number of cogent explanations about why this book was not written from Korczak’s point of view).
And, they spell his name right.
Not to be ungrateful, but why can’t anyone spell Jim Shepard’s name correctly?
